LA County Health Services Recruiting Video
Recruiting video for Los Angeles County Health Services, connecting healthcare careers with community care and the mission of public service.
Recruiting for a Public Healthcare Mission
Capitola Media produced a recruiting video for Los Angeles County Health Services, connecting healthcare employment with the purpose of public service. The project brings together two important areas of our work: communicating an organization’s mission and helping prospective employees understand the environment in which they would contribute. For a county healthcare system, that story extends beyond an individual facility to the communities and people its workforce serves.
Healthcare With a Community Responsibility
LA County Health Services provides care through a network of hospitals, clinics and community programs. Its mission centers on improving health for patients and communities, with an emphasis on compassionate care, inclusion and accountability. That responsibility gives recruiting communications a specific context. Candidates are considering the work itself, the people they will work alongside and the contribution they can make within a public institution.
A healthcare employer’s identity is shaped by everyday service as well as its stated values. The outreach imagery in this project shows health professionals meeting a person in an outdoor community setting, making the connection between care and place visible. It introduces a working environment that a conventional office portrait or hospital exterior would not explain on its own. The image gives the public-service mission a human focus and establishes why the setting matters to the recruitment story.
Making the Work Meaningful to Prospective Employees
Effective recruiting video production helps an audience consider more than a job title. In healthcare, prospective employees may want to understand the organization’s priorities, the populations it serves and how their professional skills fit into a larger team. A film can bring those questions together through people, working environments and a clear explanation of purpose. The goal is to help viewers form a more informed picture of the employer and the responsibilities associated with its mission.
For public employers, that connection between career and service is especially important. Recruitment is an opportunity to explain why the work matters while keeping the message concrete and credible. LA County Health Services offers a strong example of the relationship: clinical expertise and community responsibility belong in the same story. Video gives that relationship a visual form that can complement written descriptions of the organization and its employment opportunities.
Production for Public Institutions
County departments and public healthcare organizations need communications that are understandable to audiences with different levels of institutional knowledge. Their films may need to serve prospective employees, communications teams, department leadership and community stakeholders. Defining the primary audience helps keep the production focused and gives reviewers a shared basis for evaluating the message.
For productions in active service environments, planning should address participant permissions, location access, the working schedule and how filming will fit around ongoing operations. Clear review responsibilities also help an organization assess terminology, visuals and the scope of any claims before release. These considerations belong in the production brief from the beginning, alongside the creative approach and intended use of the finished content.
A Public-Sector Example With Wider Relevance
The LA County Health Services recruiting film connects the purpose of an employer with a tangible service environment, illustrating how organizational storytelling can support a recruiting assignment.
