Video Production in Los Angeles and Southern California
Capitola Media produces commercials, corporate videos, product content, interviews and event media in Los Angeles and Southern California. We work directly with companies and their in-house creative teams on projects that need a clear creative idea, an appropriate production team and a coordinated path through postproduction.
The region supports different ways of making a film: a controlled sound stage, a practical workplace, a product studio or a location selected for the story. We build the production around the concept and deliverables rather than choosing a larger crew or more equipment by default.
A Retail Environment Built for the Story
For our Inkling retail technology commercial, Capitola Media filmed on a Los Angeles sound stage and managed production and postproduction. The film placed enterprise software in a physical retail setting so viewers could connect the technology with the people using it.
The stage provided control over lighting, camera positions, performance and continuity. That control allowed the production to design the environment around the communication problem rather than adapt every shot to an operating store. The project is a concrete example of our Los Angeles studio work for a technology brand.
Commercials, Products and Brand Campaigns
Our commercial video production work includes scripted spots, brand films, product campaigns and digital advertising assets. Some assignments arrive with an approved creative concept; others begin with a product, customer problem or campaign brief that needs to become a visual idea.
Production can include casting, directing, cinematography, lighting, sound, art direction, wardrobe, product preparation and location management. For software and services, live action can work alongside interface recordings and graphics. For physical products, close detail, lighting and demonstration sequences help show how the product looks and operates.
When a campaign also requires commercial photography, we plan dedicated stills coverage alongside the video. Shared talent, locations and design can keep the campaign visually consistent, but the schedule must allow each discipline to complete its work.
Sound Stages and Practical Locations
A studio can provide control over sound, backgrounds, products and repeated setups. A practical location can supply recognizable context and visual detail that would otherwise need to be built. We assess both options against the creative approach, crew, equipment, space and budget.
Location planning covers usable sound, daylight, power, parking, loading, security, access and control over the environment. Production documentation and any required permissions are coordinated within the agreed scope. Location representatives and designated advisors confirm the requirements applicable to their property and operations.
Travel and equipment movement also influence the schedule. A production involving several Los Angeles locations needs enough time to reset lighting and cameras, prepare the next scene and accommodate participants, not simply drive from one address to another.
Interviews and Events
Our interview production services support executives, customers, specialists and creative teams. We plan the questions, location, sound, lighting and supporting footage around what the participant needs to communicate. Recording can take place in an office, studio, hotel or another setting connected to the story.
For conferences, launches and hybrid programs, event production may include multiple cameras, live switching, presentation capture, streaming support and post-event films. The production plan identifies the live program's needs and the recordings or campaign assets required afterward.
Including Orange County and Long Beach
Capitola Media also supports production in Orange County, Long Beach and the wider Southern California region. Assignments may involve offices, studios, hotels, customer facilities, product environments or event venues. Los Angeles and Orange County work can be coordinated within one project when locations and schedules support that approach.
For our Occidental Petroleum recruiting video, filming took place on an Oxy-managed island in Long Beach Harbor. Crew and employee talent worked approximately 40 feet above ground on an oil derrick for one of the film’s opening shots, connecting the employee story to its industrial setting.
We establish crew calls, deliveries, access windows, participant availability and filming priorities for each site. The location should serve the assignment; regional coverage does not mean every production needs to move between several cities.
Finish and Deliver
Postproduction brings the footage, performances, graphics, music, sound and color into one finished piece. The scope can include a primary commercial or film, shorter edits, alternate aspect ratios, captions and platform-specific masters. Clients and their designated teams approve claims, talent uses, licensed materials and final distribution requirements.
