Microsoft 365 for Business Product Video
Part of a video series produced for Microsoft, introducing Microsoft 365 for Business applications through business-focused product communication.
Microsoft 365 for Business
Capitola Media produced a series of videos for Microsoft featuring its Microsoft 365 for Business applications. This project brings a broad software offering into a business context, where the audience’s interest starts with the work people need to accomplish. The project imagery pairs the Microsoft 365 for business identity with people in an office, giving the technology a human setting before the conversation becomes more detailed.
Making a Software Offering Understandable
A business application video has to connect two kinds of understanding: what the software does and why a working team would use it. An audience may recognize a product name without understanding how the offering relates to its own responsibilities. Clear product communication gives viewers a way to connect the technology with familiar needs, such as creating information, sharing work and staying connected with colleagues.
For a suite of applications, organization matters as much as the amount of information included. A useful narrative establishes the business context, introduces the relevant capabilities and gives each idea enough room to register. Our product demo video production approach begins with the audience and the question the video needs to answer, so the content has a clear purpose within a larger product story.
Developing a Series Around Business Applications
Producing a series allows a company to address different aspects of an offering across related videos. Each asset can focus on a defined topic while sharing the language and visual identity of the wider brand. That structure is particularly useful for business software, where decision makers and everyday users may arrive with different questions about the same product.
Software communication benefits from attention to terminology, interface accuracy and the relationship between a feature and its intended use. Those considerations help a product presentation remain understandable to a mixed audience without losing the specificity that makes it useful.
Product Communication Within a Larger Brand
A recognizable brand provides context, but each video still needs to earn the audience’s attention with a clear subject and a coherent progression. This Microsoft 365 for Business project sits alongside our Microsoft corporate video in the Work library, showing two different assignments for the same organization. One centers on business applications; the other provides a broader corporate presentation.
