Evoke Tactical Product Video Production
Cinematic product marketing video for Evoke Tactical featuring military and medical support gear in a realistic high desert field operation outside Los Angeles.
Tactical Product Video Production for Evoke
Capitola Media produced a cinematic product marketing video for Evoke Tactical designed to demonstrate the company’s protective, medical, and field support equipment in the environments where those products were intended to perform. Rather than photograph the equipment as isolated product shots, the production placed Evoke’s gear into a realistic field operation. We created a simulated military extraction and medical response scenario at Army Trucks Inc. in Canyon Country, outside Los Angeles. The location provided military vehicles, rugged terrain, field structures, and the infrastructure needed to build a convincing high desert operational environment.
The project combined the scale and visual language of a commercial production with the product accuracy required for specialized tactical equipment. It is an example of Capitola Media’s approach to commercial video production, where production design, casting, cinematography, locations, and technical execution all serve the product story.
Showing Specialized Equipment in Context
Evoke developed protective and utility products for military personnel, emergency responders, search and rescue organizations, law enforcement, and other users working in demanding environments. The video showcased a range of Evoke equipment, including uniforms, ballistic eyewear, solar powered backpacks, medical kits, antimicrobial sprays, clothing, and other field support products. Instead of simply displaying their features, we built scenes that allowed the equipment to function naturally within the action. The production included Humvees and other military vehicles, soldiers, medics, nurses, doctors, a commander, and personnel operating from a forward field base. Performers used radios and authentic operational terminology, while military and emergency medical experience among members of the cast helped reinforce the realism of the scenes.
The objective was not to make a combat film. The tactical environment existed to give Evoke’s products a credible context and allow prospective buyers to see how the gear could integrate into actual field operations.
Building a Realistic High Desert Operation
One of the primary sequences depicted an escorted medical vehicle entering the field to retrieve wounded personnel. The action then continued into a medical tent, where the production shifted its attention toward Evoke’s medical products and clothing.
Creating that environment required coordination across casting, vehicles, wardrobe, props, production design, camera, and performance. The shoot ultimately involved approximately 25 crew members and 25 cast members, including a six person camera department. Capitola Media handled the production from creative development through filming and post production, drawing on the same full service capabilities we bring to complex technology video production for companies whose products are easier to understand when viewers can see them working in the real world.
The Press Even Covered This Production
The press even covered this production. Teradek published a feature about the Evoke shoot, detailing both the scale of the production and the technology we used to capture it.
The production was photographed with RED Weapon and RED Epic W cinema cameras paired with Cooke prime lenses. We equipped the cameras with Teradek Bolt 300 wireless video transmitters, sending real time camera feeds to two Teradek receivers at video village.
That wireless workflow was particularly valuable on this shoot. Camera operators needed freedom to move through vehicles, exterior action, medical environments, and uneven terrain without being tethered to monitoring equipment. At the same time, the director, producers, and Evoke representatives needed to see exactly what the cameras were capturing.
The Teradek system allowed the client to evaluate wardrobe, products, procedures, positioning, and other details as each shot was filmed. Assistant camera crews could also pull focus remotely while the operators moved through the action. Teradek documented the production in its article, “Capitola Media Captures Military Search & Rescue With Teradek”.
Full Scale Production Outside Los Angeles
The Evoke project demonstrates how a product video can become substantially more effective when the production environment reflects the way customers actually use the product. For equipment designed for demanding field conditions, authenticity mattered. The vehicles, landscape, performers, medical environment, communications, and production design gave the Evoke products a believable operational context while cinematic photography kept the focus on the brand and the gear.
From specialized locations and large casts to vehicles, camera technology, production logistics, and post production, Capitola Media can scale a project around what the story requires. Our Los Angeles and Southern California video production capabilities provide access to experienced crews, specialized locations, production facilities, and the infrastructure needed for ambitious commercial shoots.
