OpenTV Product Demo II
OpenTV product demo produced in San Francisco and featured at the International Broadcast Convention in Amsterdam, presenting a customizable television platform through a home-viewing experience.
OpenTV Product Demo II
Capitola Media produced this second product demonstration video for OpenTV in San Francisco. The film presents a television platform designed to support flexible standards, including HTML5, and allow designers to customize the viewer experience. It was featured at the International Broadcast Convention in Amsterdam, bringing the product into a presentation setting for the broadcast industry.
A Television Platform in a Familiar Setting
The film’s living-room imagery places the technology within a recognizable home-viewing experience. A couple watches entertainment programming on a television, connecting the platform with the audience it ultimately serves. That context gives the product story a practical focus: the technology matters because of the viewing experience it makes possible.
For a technical audience, a product demonstration can connect platform capabilities with their visible application. Showing the viewing environment gives the audience a shared point of reference before a presentation becomes more detailed. Our product demo video production work uses that relationship between product and use to help make complex offerings easier to understand.
Communicating a Customizable Viewer Experience
OpenTV engineered the platform to support customization of the user experience through flexible standards such as HTML5. For a product film, that creates a communication task that spans both technology and design. The audience needs to understand the offering while also seeing why its flexibility is relevant to the experience delivered on screen.
A demonstration can give those ideas a visual structure, linking the technical proposition to the presentation of content in a familiar environment. The emphasis is on the relationship between the platform and its use. Software and systems often need to be explained through the experiences they support.
Product Communication for an Industry Event
The finished video was featured at the International Broadcast Convention in Amsterdam. An industry presentation brings a product into a broader conversation with potential partners and customers, making clarity and context especially useful. The OpenTV film provided a visual introduction to the platform within that setting, connecting the technical offering with television viewing.
The project also illustrates how a product demonstration can serve a purpose beyond a company’s website. A completed film can become part of a trade-show presentation, supporting a discussion about the product through imagery that gives the audience a common reference point. Its role should be defined by the assignment and the way the client intends to introduce the offering.
The OpenTV Product Demo Series
This is the second of two OpenTV films produced by Capitola Media. See OpenTV Product Demo I for the companion production, which combines live action, motion graphics and post-production in another presentation of television technology. Both projects connect a technical product with the people and viewing environments it is designed to serve.
