Entrepreneur Video Production for GoDaddy Featuring Ayesha Curry

Capitola Media produced a branded entrepreneur video for GoDaddy featuring Ayesha Curry, filmed at her offices in Oakland, California. The project placed Curry’s own experience building businesses at the center of a larger GoDaddy initiative focused on people turning personal ideas and passions into viable companies.

GoDaddy built its business by providing entrepreneurs and small businesses with the tools needed to establish and grow an online presence, including domain names, websites, ecommerce, search optimization, email marketing, and other digital services. The company launched its “Make the World You Want” campaign, highlighting six real entrepreneurs and the businesses they had created. Curry was selected as one of the campaign’s featured entrepreneurs.

The initiative coincided with the launch of Homemade, Curry’s lifestyle brand and website. Built using GoDaddy, Homemade brought her recipes, entertaining content, products, and growing portfolio of businesses together in one online destination. The campaign used Curry’s experience to illustrate a central GoDaddy proposition: an idea can begin with an individual passion and develop into a recognizable business with the right tools, persistence, and online presence.

Ayesha Curry as Entrepreneur

Curry was a particularly strong subject because entrepreneurship was already an established part of her career. She had developed an audience through food and cooking content, authored The Seasoned Life, hosted television programming, developed consumer products, and partnered with acclaimed chef Michael Mina to create International Smoke. What began with sharing recipes and an interest in food had expanded into publishing, television, restaurants, products, and a broader lifestyle business.

Her husband, Stephen Curry, was already one of the most recognizable basketball players in the world through his career with the Golden State Warriors. That connection inevitably gave the Curry name extraordinary public visibility, particularly in the Bay Area. But the GoDaddy story was distinctly Ayesha Curry’s. The campaign focused on the businesses, audience, and creative identity she had built herself, and on the progression from an individual interest in cooking to a multifaceted entrepreneurial career.

That distinction was important to the production. Rather than approaching Curry primarily as a celebrity personality, Capitola Media photographed her as a business founder in her own working environment. The result aligned naturally with GoDaddy’s emphasis on the people behind businesses and the ideas that motivate them.

Filming Ayesha Curry in Oakland

Oakland was more than a production location. By the time of the GoDaddy campaign, Oakland and the greater Bay Area had become an important home for the Curry family and a center of Ayesha Curry’s professional life. Her restaurant ventures, business activity, media presence, and later philanthropic work all developed strong connections to the region.

Filming at her Oakland offices gave the video a sense of place that a studio production could not have provided. The environment connected Curry’s public profile to the day to day work involved in building a business and allowed the production to combine her interview with supporting footage grounded in an actual workplace.

The shoot also had one memorable unscripted moment: Stephen Curry stopped by for lunch. It was not part of the production plan or the finished brand story, but it underscored that we were filming in Ayesha Curry’s actual working environment rather than on a constructed celebrity set.

For Capitola Media, the project also demonstrates the advantages of experienced San Francisco Bay Area video production for national brands working with prominent talent in Oakland, San Francisco, Silicon Valley, and throughout Northern California.

Connecting a Personal Story to a Global Brand

The creative challenge was to serve both sides of the story. GoDaddy is a large global technology company, but its campaign was built around individual entrepreneurs. Curry brought celebrity recognition, but the video needed to communicate something more specific than fame. Her story provided a credible example of how an individual can develop an idea, create an audience, build products and businesses around it, and use digital tools to reach customers.

Capitola Media’s commercial video production approach centered that relationship between subject and brand. The production used Curry’s own experience to support GoDaddy’s message rather than forcing the story into a conventional corporate presentation.

The project is also representative of Capitola Media’s work with consumer brands that need to combine recognizable talent, authentic storytelling, and carefully controlled production. In this case, the intersection of GoDaddy, Ayesha Curry, entrepreneurship, and Oakland provided the foundation for a brand story with both national reach and a strong connection to its subject.
