Capitola Media produced this training video for Polycom RealAccess, a cloud-based service built to help organizations understand and manage their RealPresence video-conferencing environment. RealAccess brought endpoint inventory, utilization, performance and capacity information into a central portal, while also offering a tutorial library for users of Polycom and industry-standard collaboration systems.
Training Built Around the Interface
The production used direct screen capture of the RealAccess portal so viewers could see the actual controls, dashboards and data they would encounter on the job. Screen recordings were edited to keep the action focused on the task at hand, with unnecessary cursor movement and dead time removed so the viewer could follow each step without distraction.
Motion graphics, callouts and editorial pacing were used to reinforce where the viewer should look and why a particular screen mattered. Rather than simply recording a software session, the piece was structured as a story with a clear beginning, middle and end: establish the user’s goal, move through the relevant interface, and arrive at the information needed to make a decision.
RealAccess Asset Management and Site View
One of RealAccess’s core functions was Asset Management. Polycom described the service as a way to organize endpoint types and locations across a video network. The Site View could show active and inactive systems by location, endpoint type, software version and other attributes, giving administrators a clearer picture of what had been deployed and where.
This first video emphasizes that inventory and device-management side of the product. Screen capture and interface detail make the portal itself the subject, while the edit turns a potentially dense administrative workflow into a concise training sequence. The result is a useful example of how software training can combine accuracy with editorial clarity.
From Documentation to a Watchable Training Story
Enterprise training content has to do more than reproduce a manual on screen. The viewer needs enough context to understand the task, enough interface detail to perform it, and enough visual variation to stay oriented. For this RealAccess series, that meant combining screen capture, editing and motion graphics with a deliberate narrative sequence built around a practical user objective.

Polycom RealAccess
Polycom launched RealAccess as an on-demand service for monitoring RealPresence infrastructure and endpoints from a central location. Its primary areas included Asset Management, Utilization, Performance, Capacity and a Tutorial Library. That combination made it both an administrative tool for IT teams and a training resource designed to improve adoption of video collaboration systems.
