Live Event Production at Twitter Headquarters

Capitola Media supported the Twitter and IBM partnership announcement at Twitter’s headquarters in downtown San Francisco. Working with our colleagues at Penny Bridge in New York, we provided on-location production and executive interviews for the press announcement.

The partnership brought together Twitter’s social data and IBM’s analytics capabilities to help businesses understand customers, markets and emerging trends. The announcement connected a familiar consumer platform with enterprise technology, making clear communication about the collaboration an important part of the event.

Executive Interviews and Announcement Coverage

Our work included filming Dick Costolo speaking for Twitter about the partnership. The interviews gave the announcement a direct executive voice, complementing the live discussion with an explanation of the business opportunity.

This assignment combined the practical demands of working inside a company’s headquarters with the needs of a coordinated announcement. The production supported the people delivering the message without turning the office meeting into a studio presentation.

A Compact Live Production Setup

The behind-the-scenes photograph shows the technical position alongside the meeting: switching and monitoring equipment on the table, the in-room presentation on a field monitor, and remote participants visible on a laptop. The operator’s position kept the equipment close to the program while the meeting continued beyond it.

It is a different scale of live-event work from a large conference stage, but the production still has to connect the room, the people on camera and those joining remotely. The photograph documents that working environment rather than a finished commercial or edited event film.
